01What the church set out to do
The church already had its own domain and email, a homepage design in progress and an active YouTube channel for its sermons. The committee wanted to bring it all together in one welcoming place where members and visitors can find service times, watch recent messages, see upcoming events and learn how to give.
- A site that works well on phones, where most members would see it
- Sermons kept current every week, without technical skills
- The church's existing email kept running through the switch
02What we built
We rebuilt the draft design into a fast, single-page site with About, Sermons, Ministries, Events, Plan a Visit and Give sections, using the committee's own words and photos.
- Mobile-first design, with the latest sermon or series front and centre
- Domain pointed to the new site with the email records left untouched, so no mail was lost
- Secure HTTPS, Google Search Console and search-ready details, so the church can be found by name
- Free hosting, so the church's running costs are just its domain and email
03How the weekly updates work
Everything that changes week to week sits in a few small content files, separate from the design, so an update can't break the layout.
- The church sends the new sermon's YouTube link.
- We add it with the correct title and date. Older messages move down on their own.
- The site rebuilds and the change is live in about a minute.
Every update is saved, so any change can be reversed, and the site stays online even if an update goes wrong. The church just sends the new link and we handle the rest.
